Staying Connected With Families During the Pandemic
Updated: Apr 4
Staying connected with the families during this time is very important to me and to the parents. My first thought was to make craft and learn kits, but I knew that it would require me to be very detailed and I did not want to overwhelm any parents with a lot of information about each day's activity. The goal for the kits are for them to be fun, not frustrated work.
Experience Early Learning, our preschool curriculum has a blog that I read regularly, and some time last week they shared a helpful article on How to Make Home Learning Bags, it also included the free printable above. Problem solved! When I saw the printable I knew the learning bags would be easy peasy to put together, and to package.
The printable on the blog included lessons from the first week of April's theme Birds & Eggs. I included the monthly newsletter in the kits too. The newsletter is double sided and jam packed with some great learning at home ideas.
Experience Early Learning organizes each day's' materials by bags for the preschool curriculum, so I just had to make individual bags per child and stay focused on counting the materials correctly.
The first lesson bag of the week includes the daily notes. I added them to the corresponding learning bag.
Experience Early Learning provides all the materials for each child for each day's lessons, except the basic supplies. I only had to add the basic supplies and I did not have to go anywhere to complete the Learning Bags. I just had to print the printable from the blog and bag everything.
I also added an outdoor discovery activity from Pond Life that we unfortunately did not get to. I hope this will encourage everyone to spend some time in their backyard. I am so grateful for our preschool curriculum, Experience Early Learning and their continued support has been incredible!
I am sending much love and positive spirits your way!
