Dramatic Play: The Baby Nursery
I was going through some photos and I came across one of our my most favorite Dramatic Play set ups that was totally inspired by the work the children participated in during our January Baby Animals theme from Experience Early Learning.
To kick start our new study of Baby Animals we read the book The Lion and the Beetle. I shared some of the toddler's activities that they enjoyed doing while reading the Lion and the Beetle here.
In the Experience Toddler lesson guide Baby Animals theme a Crown was a touch object for Circle Time and it was just fitting for the entire group. They absolutely loved being princes and princesses while embracing their friendships. The Lion and the Beetle is an Experience Early Learning exclusive book written by Chris Lensch
Once it clicked for them that they were also "baby" animals magic began to happen. It started with one child bringing in a photo of themselves as a baby and then.... Celebration time!
Hear ye! Hear Ye!
The baby nursery was a very busy place, but yet quiet and peaceful. Lullabies were sung to the babies, so sweet!
One of the STEAM Stations in our January lesson guide was a Baby Washing Station. I am so glad that Experience Early Learning had this planned as I was able to plan ahead because of course, baby washing was a hit and a perfect way for them to provide care and love to their baby. The power of play!
